Emre Karaoglu is a fresh, young Turkish artist whose presence in the art scene is on the rise. His paintings include themes of social realism as well as comprehensive, boldly colorful portraits of modern-day life. Human bodies and faces embody many deep emotions in the routine struggle in life. As an observer, when you watch daily life, you can clearly feel these emotions. I think the images I paint of the human body act as a bridge for me, a way to express to others what I feel from the people I see in daily life.
Colorful Portraits of Modern-Day Street Life
In his daily life, Emre is always accompanied by his sketchbook. He can be seen sketching in the streets, corners, and cafes as well as on the streetcar and buses. From his sketches, he is able to capture portraits on street, musicians in smoky back-alley clubs, bustling cafes, and quiet moments of pensive retreat. These sketches are then transformed into paintings of poetic representations interpreted by the artist’s altruistic view. In this way, Emre records the present condition of life in the city by extracting and selecting powerful images that speak to him and the human condition.
Emre was born in Istanbul, Turkey in 1992

When looking closely, one can see Emre’s paintings and sketches are composed of vibrant, rhythmic movements, with a color scale that is balanced in both excitement and curiosity. This harmonious and exuberant rhythm of the image, with its layered internality, is perhaps that which first attracts our attention. It is from this first glance that we are drawn into the inner world of the observer and are able to reflect and feel the tender emotions that connect us all.

Sanat Anlayışı
Toplumsal gerçekçilik akımına ait eseler üretmekte olan sanatçı, resimlerinde özellikle sokak müzisyenlerine, performans sanatçılarına, kahvehane ve bar köşelerinde karşımıza çıkan yüzlere ve seslere kayıtsız kalamadığı – içinde yaşadığı şehrin hemen her köşesinde eskizler alarak, sınırsız bir kaosun içinden kendine tekrar eden güçlü imgeleri ayıklayıp seçerek ve sanatına yansıtarak, bir anlamda şehrin bugününü kayıt altına almaktadır.
